Abstract

Abstract: In the contemporary era, there is a heightened focus on environmental concerns such as climate change, plastic pollution, and the depletion of resources. Traditional packaging methods, heavily reliant on non-renewable resources and generating substantial waste, significantly contribute to these issues. This paper investigates the views of Gen Z on sustainable packaging, recognizing their potential to drive change in the industry due to their substantial population and considerable purchasing power. The study, conducted with a sample of 100 participants, utilized random sampling and a survey questionnaire as the research tools. The results indicate a growing environmental consciousness among Gen Z, prompting them to seek sustainable alternatives when making purchases.

The study aims to highlight the significance of understanding Gen Z perspectives on sustainable packaging. This understanding is crucial for meeting the preferences of this generation and fostering a more sustainable future. Furthermore, the research indicates that Gen Z prioritizes sustainability and convenience in their choices. The study shows Gen Z is aware of environmental issues and is ready to pay a decent price for sustainable packaged products compared to the cheaper ones.
