IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON USAGE OF DEBIT CARDS IN INDIA

Abstract

Debit cards, which are also called as ATM cards that are issued by banks for the customers convenient usage of cash withdrawals and online transactions have gained a valued feedback among customers across the world. In the recent past years, it is being observed that the usage of Debit Cards in India is being drastically improved and highly utilized. Even in day-to-day life of each and every people in the society, in this modern era it is mandatory to have debit cards handy for any purchases in PoS. In the year 2020, a major pandemic situation raised due to a highly vigilant virus named “Corona”.

This study examines the people’s reaction towards the usage of debit cards in this pandemic situation, and how debit cards played a key role in saving the peoples essentials and also the challenges of using debit cards in this pandemic situation.
